If John Green wrote an apocalypse story
Imagine the apocalypse. Now think about The Breakfast Club. Throw in The Fault in Our Stars. That's what you get in Tommy Walloch's book, We All Looked Up.
I started out thinking that this book was going to be another basic teen drama. But it is seriously about the end of the world. The premise is that a giant asteroid is hurtling towards earth and is going to kill everyone. I'm assuming in the end that "they all look up" and realize the ridiculous things they've been worrying about in life don't actually matter.
At first, I thought the book was kind of corny and slow tbh. The dialogue wasn't all that. But the action is starting to pick up and WOW. It's getting crazy. It's weird, but this is like a genuine apocalypse book and, I don't know why, but I wasn't expecting that. Like I really don't know how it's going to end! Surprisingly I have become invested in the characters. Does everyone just die??
The author also has an album on iTunes that coincides with the story?? Super hipster. I think it's hilarious that the author literally made a full-length album of songs for his book. (I also did not like the songs but whatevs, that's just my opinion.)
